Rừng núi dang tay nối lại biển xa
Ta đi vòng tay lớn mãi để nối sơn hà
Mặt đất bao la anh em ta về
Gặp nhau mừng như bão cát
Quay cuồng trời rộng bàn tay ta nắm
Nối tròn một vòng Việt Nam

Cờ nối gió đêm vui mỗi ngày
Dòng máu nối con tim đồng loại
Dựng tình người trong ngày mới
Thành phố nối thôn xa vời vợi
Người chết nối linh thiêng vào đời
Và nụ cười nối trên môi

Từ Bắc vô Nam nối liền nắm tay
Ta đi từ đồng hoang vu vượt hết núi đồi
Vượt thác cheo leo tay ta vượt đèo
Từ quê nghèo lên phố lớn
Nắm tay nối liền biển xanh sông gấm
Nối liền một vòng tử sinh.

Jungles and mountains extend their arms to the distant sea
We travel across this vast land to connect mountains and rivers
On this great earth, brothers and sisters return
Our happy reunion is like a sandstorm
Whirling under the open sky
Our hands join together to form a circle of unity around Viet Nam

Flags unite the wind, nights unite the days
Flowing blood connects us to the same heart
Raise people’s feelings, on a new day
Cities connect with faraway villages
The dead connect the afterlife
With smiles on their lips

From the North to the South we join hands
We travel from the deserted land, overcome all the hills and mountains
Cross dangerous waterfalls, cross the gorge
From poor villages to big cities
We join hands, blue oceans, deep rivers,
We join in the circle of life and death
